Cellphone/iPod Cozy

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

As the temperature starts to get warmer, I’m less inclined to leave my cellphone in the car when I’m at work. At my particular workplace, iPods and cellphones are not allowed in certain areas, my cubicle farm being one of them. They have little cubbies right in the doorway where one can stash stuff. My stuff is usually pretty easy to distinguish since I’m one of the few folks that has a trinket hanging from my cellphone. However, since I have my cellphone, iPod, and Bluetooth headset, it’s a bit of a juggle to carry everything.

Thus, the cellphone/iPod cozy was born. Really I just knitted up a swatch and sewed it up on the sides and added a crochet chain rope to tie it all together, but it gets the job done and I played with cables in the pattern.

Sweet Medley Progress Post 1

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

I started on the Sweet Medley Afghan sometime last month. I haven’t made much progress, but that’s not a surprise. My hobbies come and go like biorhythms and right now I’m in a knitting lull. I’ve messed up a couple times which required that I undo a couple rows, but I haven’t had to start over completely, yet.

I found this pattern in a Leisure Arts pamphlet at my local craft store. I went to my local yarn store (LYS) and picked up two shades of Plymouth Encore Worsted weight yarn (174 and 999). Hopefully they’ll go together reasonably well.

As before, I’ve posted this project on my Ravelry site, but if you don’t have an account, you won’t be able to see it. So, pictures! Right now, it’s a very tiny, not very useful afghan. ;)

Sweet Medley on the needles. Not a very good photo. The needles are US 8 circulars, 40″ long.

Magic Stripe Sock 1

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Back in January, I started on my first pair of socks. Right now, it’s still just one sock.

It’s called “Magic Stripe” because it uses the Magic Stripe yarn from Lion Brand. Hmm, actually, the web site doesn’t seem to have any swatches, but there are some other patterns with pictures.

I’ve got this project up at Ravelry, but for those of you without an account, here are some pictures.
